Realizing the strategic
importance of Project Management capability, the client had invested in
developing an in-house PM competency development program. A key focus
area of this program was to develop an in-house capability for
developing the required competencies of entry level Project Managers.
The program largely depended on instructors from within the
organization. For delivering the core content on PM topics, the client
had signed up with a leading provider of e-learning solutions. Participants would
typically go through these e-learning modules covering basic PM
concepts. They would then attend focused classroom sessions on
application of concepts. For the classroom sessions, the client felt
the need for introducing the case method and provide a menu of case
studies specific to their own company. To achieve this, they sought our
help.

context, nature of projects and their internal quality system. PM Power
consultants also reviewed the basic e-learning content and classroom material
to ensure an appropriate fit of the case studies to be developed.

Estimation, Quality Management and Risk Management. Each case study
package comprised the case handout, suggested answer, instructor notes
and case assessment guidelines. These case studies were extensively
reviewed between the client’s training faculty and PM Power
and refined further.
